Overview
Our Seniors are a lively and welcoming part of Ponteland Golf Club. Open to men aged 55 and over, the Seniors enjoy regular Monday competitions, inter-club matches, away days and social events.
At Ponteland competitive Seniors golf is played throughout the year. Whenever it is played, it is always played in a relaxed, good-humoured, friendly atmosphere. It’s all about enjoying the game, staying active, and being part of a welcoming Club community.
As the Club approaches its Centenary in 2027, there’s never been a better time to play Seniors golf at Ponteland.
Enjoy Your Seniors Golf
Since 1974 the Seniors have been an important part of Ponteland Golf Club.
As our Club approaches its Centenary in 2027, the Seniors continue to uphold Ponteland’s long-standing tradition of relaxed, friendly and enjoyable competitive golf.
The comprehensive golfing programme includes;
* Regular Monday competitions, played throughout the year
* Knockout singles and pairs matchplay summer competitions
* Northumberland Seniors League and Friendly teams
* Away days
* Seniors Invitation Day
* Annual Seniors Tour
* Three Ponteland Seniors Opens
Whatever the competition there’s always time afterwards for a drink and a chat in the clubhouse, where new members are warmly encouraged to come along and join in.
Our results show that whatever your age, if your handicap is up to date and you play regularly, you can still win.
The Social Side
At Ponteland, Seniors golf and friendship go hand in hand, it is at the heart of everything we do.
To achieve that we hold regular social events throughout the year, ranging from winter pie and pint nights, to summer get togethers and our annual pre- Christmas Presentation Night in December.
New ideas and suggestions are always welcome.
